April's Inspiration
The music of Mark kozelek and Sun Kil Moon's new Cd was the inspiration for these pics. I was listening to it in my living room admiring the light as it danced on a doily sitting on my coffee table. I grabbed my son's Nikon Coolpix and some magnifying lenses that don't fit onto it and shot away. After a couple of glasses of wine, the shots became more blurry and I think more beautiful. the previous post has a link to Sun Kil Moon's website.
April
Mark Kozelek has released a new cd under the Sun Kil Moon moniker. I have been listening to his music intently for 16 years now and it just keeps getting better. Whether his music is released through Red House Painters, Sun Kil Moon or plain old Mark, it's always fantastic. Some of the most emotional tunes and lyrics you'll ever hear. He is also doing a little touring this year and his CD is available on his site for a limited time with a signed bonus Cd. Get it while it lasts.

While listening to his latest, I was inspired to take some photos in my living room. What better subject than one of his Cd covers. Pictures will be in the next post.

We Need Some Discipline in Here
To the lucky handful of people that witnessed a performance by Throbbing Gristle, I am truly jealous. They were like no one else and no one has come close since.
David Bowie's "Space Oddity"
I recently bought the Blu-ray dvd of Stanley Kubrick's 2001 a Space Odyssey and have been in a kind of 2001 groove for a little while now and saw this on YouTube. I know that 2001 was the influence for Bowie to write that song, so that was enough for me to post a link. I think this is the first time I've ever seen this video. Seriously, I didn't think they made music videos back then. What do I know?

Blu-ray Won The Battle
This video was posted on YouTube the day after the Warner Brothers announcement that they were releasing their hi-definition dvds exclusively with Blu-ray. It's really quite funny and amazing how quickly it must have been edited together. I had held off buying an Hi-Def player until this announcement from Warners. It gave me enough confidence that the end of the war was coming and I went out and bought a Blu-ray player. A Sony BDP S300. After seeing Bladerunner and 2001: A Space Odyssey on it, I know I made the right choice. Good God they look incredible!
